Staff Accountant
The Staff Accountant's primary responsibility is to work closely with the Controller, analyze financial data, record journal entries as appropriate, and prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule with assistance of the Controller. This role must ensure financial activity is properly recorded.
Responsibilities include:
- Preparing financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.
- Facilitating and completing monthly close procedures including accrual analysis and journal entries.
- Preparing monthly account reconciliations.
- Assisting with financial and tax audits.
- Assisting in documentation and monitoring of internal controls.
- Recording fixed asset acquisitions, dispositions, and depreciation in the accounting system.
- Reconciling daily cash transactions for all bank accounts.
- Assisting with annual fringe benefit and 1099 reporting in accordance with IRS rules.
- Preparing certain sales tax returns, maintaining tax calendar. Drafting written responses to tax notices.
- Conducting ad hoc analysis and projects as required.
- Working to gain a deep understanding of the Company's EP software systems to drive improvement and efficiencies.
- Upholding the principles and practices of the GQM business management system, including QC Thinking, Kaizen Innovation, and the corporate philosophy of GC no Kokoro.
- Performing general office duties such as answering the telephone and filing documents.
- Participating in regulatory compliance activities related to the job function, including quality audits, adverse event reporting for company products, and adherence to Good Documentation Practices for reporting and record keeping.
