Position Summary The Assistant Team Leader supports the Production Supervisor in managing daily operations within a food manufacturing environment. This role combines leadership responsibilities with active participation on the production line, helping ensure safety, quality, and efficiency standards are consistently met. The Assistant Team Leader plays a key role in maintaining workflow, supporting team members, and fostering a positive and productive work environment.

Responsibilities Work directly on the production line while supporting team coordination and task execution. Assist the Production Supervisor in assigning tasks and monitoring team performance throughout the shift. Reinforce safety and quality standards by modeling proper procedures and addressing concerns as they arise. Help troubleshoot operational issues and escalate problems when necessary. Support inventory tracking and communicate supply needs to the Supervisor. Maintain a clean, safe, and compliant work environment in accordance with company, state, and federal guidelines. Participate in training efforts and help onboard new team members. Provide input on employee performance and development opportunities. Perform physical tasks as needed, including climbing, stooping, crouching, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds.

Qualifications Experience: Proven experience in extrusion operations. Technical Skills: Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to read and understand computer screens and troubleshoot complex extrusion issues. Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and motivate a team effectively. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. repeatedly, perform various math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions), and work at heights as necessary. Safety Awareness: Comfortable working in environments with exposure to noise, dust, chemicals, and allergens. Able to adhere to safety guidelines and wear required protective gear. Communication: Proficiency in reading instructions and safety information in English.
