This role ensures equipment operates safely and efficiently while supporting production reliability and performance.The technician will work closely with maintenance leadership and factory technical support to troubleshoot equipment issues, maintain system performance, and support continuous operations.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerform installation, programming, inspection, testing, and repair of electrical and mechanical equipmentMaintain equipment in safe and effective working conditionPerform preventative and predictive maintenance for electronic control equipment including air cylinders, valves, drives, sensors, motors, and gearboxesTroubleshoot machinery performance issues with factory technical support both remotely and onsiteMonitor programming and calibration settings to ensure proper operation of production linesConduct daily equipment reviews and troubleshoot issues as neededMaintain inventory of equipment parts and order replacements when necessaryAssist with safety compliance and provide training support as neededReport all accidents and injuries immediately regardless of severityFollow all safety protocols and wear required PPE including safety boots, vest, hard hat, and glovesPlan preventative maintenance activities to improve system reliabilityPerform additional duties as assigned by managementRequired QualificationsHigh school diploma requiredMinimum of 2 years of experience installing and maintaining electronic, mechanical, or pneumatic equipmentMechanical background requiredBasic understanding of electrical systems including 480V and 120VAbility to read and interpret electrical schematicsStrong communication skills and ability to follow written and verbal instructionsAbility to work in a fast-paced industrial environmentAbility to work flexible hours including weekendsMust provide personal tools (basic hand tools and electrical tools such as metric/SAE sets, screwdrivers, and multimeter)Must pass a drug screenValid driver's license requiredPreferred QualificationsExperience working with industrial equipment such as water pumps, transfer pumps, or coloring machinesExperience in manufacturing, recycling, or heavy industrial environmentsBilingual is a plusPhysical RequirementsWork performed both indoors and outdoors in a manufacturing or landscape production environmentExposure to dust, dirt, and industrial equipmentAbility to lift up to 70 lbsAbility to stand for extended periods and walk short distancesAbility to bend, stoop, climb ladders or stairs, and work at heightsComfortable working in confined spaces and around heavy machineryWhat Austin Wood Recycling Company OffersMedical, Dental, and Vision coverage401(k) fully vested at year one with up to 4% company matchGenerous PTO, paid holidays, and paid bereavement leaveEducational assistance for industry-related certificationsOpportunity to grow with a company focused on sustainability and environmental stewardshipEEO StatementAustin Wood Recycling is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
