Pediatric Palliative Care Physician

Location Medical Center - Fort Worth Department Palliative Care Shift Varying Shifts (United States of America) Standard Weekly Hours 40 Overview Cook Children’s Health Care System (CCHCS) in Fort Worth, Texas, offers a full‑time board eligible/board certified Pediatric Palliative Care physician position. The successful candidate will join a well‑established, high‑functioning interdisciplinary team, including physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, and clinical therapists, who collaborate closely with spiritual care and child life teams. The service operates within a 477‑bed tertiary care pediatric hospital with an average daily inpatient census of 20–30 patients and maintains an in‑person outpatient clinic and a virtual home‑based telemedicine program. Call responsibility is 1:5. Candidates may also work with home‑based hospice services if desired. Good communication, collaboration, and flexibility are desired. Teaching, committee, and research opportunities are available for interested candidates. Responsibilities Provide pediatric palliative care consultative services to inpatient and outpatient patients, including virtual home‑based telemedicine visits. Collaborate with physicians, nurse practitioners, nurses, clinical therapists, spiritual care, and child life teams. Respond to call responsibilities with a 1:5 shift ratio. Participate in teaching, committee work, and research activities as requested. Qualifications Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required. Unrestricted Texas Medical license (must be obtained prior to start date). Successful completion of an ACGME or AMA approved pediatric residency. Board certified or board eligible in Hospice and Palliative Medicine. American Heart Association BLS and PALS certifications. DEA Registration #CCPN #LI-RV1.
