The U.S. Space Force is a military service that organizes, trains & equips space forces in order to protect U.S. and allied interests in space and to provide space capabilities to the joint force. Duties

Help

The primary purpose of this position is: To serve as Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT) subject matter expert, advocate, and policy manager for the United States Space Force Intelligence Directorate (USSF/S2). Responsibilities also include policy program planning, direction, or evaluation of collection operarations for (GEOINT) and the National GEOINT Program (NGP). Enables integrated GEOINT capabilities to collect, process, exploit, and disseminate (PED) accurate and timely information that provides the situational awareness necessary to USSF/S2, combatant commanders, and other customers to in support of planning and execution of military operations.

DUTY 1: Manages the collection of the most complex geo-spatial intelligence. Serves as a subject matter expert for GEOINT collection and operations.

DUTY 2: Serves as USSF representative, senior adviser, and primary consultant for GEOINT. Serves as the chief Space Force advisor and on-site advocate to NGA for the Deputy Chief of Space Operations for Intelligence; serves as a senior technical authority on GEOINT issues.

DUTY 3: - Presents, and advocates for USSF ISR capabilities to the National GEOINT Program (NGP). Provides visibility for Full-Spectrum GEOINT (FSG) products and services created within the USSF Intelligence Enterprise.

DUTY 4 - Exercises supervisory personnel management responsibilities. Advises and provides counsel to employees regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management.

• This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel Systems (DCIPS) position implemented under Section 504, Title V of Public Law 99-569, Intelligence Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 1987, as codified in Sec 1601, Chap 83 of Title 10 USC.

• This is a Centrally Managed position. Mobility is a condition of employment. The employee must sign an Air Force-wide mobility agreement.
• An advanced intelligence-related or professional/scientific degree is desirable.

Qualifications

This is a GG-15 position in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). The GG-15 duties for the "Professional" work category are at the "Expert" work level and are equivalent to those at the GS-15 level. The selectee's salary will be set within the grade equivalent to a GS/GG grade based on the selectee's qualifications in relation to the job.

In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions, Administrative and Management.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must reflect the quality level of experience which demonstrates the possession of the knowledge, skills, abilities, and competencies necessary for successful job performance required for this position. Examples of creditable experience include: Mastery of one or more professional or administrative fields. The employee at this level applies experimental theories and new developments to problems not susceptible to treatment by accepted methods or makes decisions or recommendations significantly changing, interpreting, or developing important policies and programs. Note: Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector, or experience gained in another government agency.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs ): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:

1. Expert knowledge of functional plans, policies, programs, and systems engaged in the collection, analysis, processing, dissemination, and production of Geospatial Intelligence.

2. Expert knowledge of advanced dissemination principles, concepts, and methods to disburse the most complex information/situations attained from multiple sources.

3. Expert knowledge of the national intelligence community, Joint, and DoD's structure, organizations, mission/functions, inter-relationships and operations.

4. Comprehensive knowledge of the DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting and Execution System (PPBE) as it relates to Geospatial Intelligence related programs.

5. Skill in communicating effectively with others, both orally and in writing; in working out solutions to problems or questions related to the work; writing clear and concise intelligence products; and delivering written and/or verbal presentations to senior level audiences for decision-making purposes.

6. Ability to maintain control of classified material; quickly assimilate disparate data; render knowledgeable and accurate assessments of the implication of such data; make decisions, estimates, and recommendations under conditions of urgency and pressure based on mature judgment and experience; and present and/or justify a position effectively. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of a small to medium sized organization.

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT CONTINUED:

1. Position is designated special-sensitive and requires eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), other intelligence-related Special Sensitive information, or involvement in Top Secret Special Access Programs (SAP) to fully perform the duties and responsibilities of the position. A non-disclosure agreement must be signed.

2. Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Drug Demand Reduction Program. Employee must pass initial and periodic short notice drug testing. Illegal drug use by employees in sensitive positions presents a clear threat to the mission of the Air Force, national security, and public safety.

3. Key: The duties of this position meets all requirements as a category 4 designation, and shall not be vacated during a national emergency or mobilization without seriously impairing the capability of the parent Federal Agency or office to function effectively. This position must be removed from the Ready Reserve and CAN NOT become a member of the Ready Reserve. (IAW: DoDD 1200.7, "Screening the Ready Reserve,")

4. The employee may be required to travel in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments

PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE : Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

VOLUNTEER WORK EXPERIENCE : Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
