Job Title: Order Picker / Warehouse Associate
Job Description
This role supports a growing HVAC distribution operation specializing in ductless mini-split air conditioning systems. You will handle a wide range of warehouse activities, including order picking, shipping and receiving, inventory handling, and forklift operation. The position offers the opportunity to work with significant independence and to develop into a backup lead for a small warehouse team. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, a safety-first mindset, and the ability to manage daily tasks with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities

• Pull and fulfill customer orders accurately using pick sheets and warehouse management systems.
• Operate sit-down forklifts and stand-up reach trucks safely and efficiently.
• Build, stage, and shrink-wrap outbound pallets to prepare orders for shipment.
• Load and unload trucks while following safe material-handling practices.
• Receive incoming inventory, verify shipment accuracy, and report discrepancies as needed.
• Assist with inventory organization, stock rotation, and material movement throughout the warehouse.
• Coordinate and communicate with freight carriers regarding pickups and shipments.
• Use email, Zoom, and company systems to communicate with management, colleagues, and customers as needed.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in accordance with company standards.
• Support neighboring warehouse operations and teams when additional help is required.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Essential Skills

• Minimum 2 years of warehouse experience.
• Previous forklift experience, including operation of a sit-down forklift.
• Proficiency in warehouse order fulfillment and order picking processes.
• Experience with inventory handling and basic inventory control tasks.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift.
• Basic computer skills for using email, warehouse systems, and communication tools.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision while managing daily priorities.
• Ability to operate safely in a warehouse environment and follow all safety guidelines.
• Ability to wear required PPE, including steel-toe boots and safety gloves.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Stand-up reach truck experience.
• Shipping and receiving experience, including handling inbound and outbound freight.
• Inventory control experience, such as cycle counting or stock reconciliation.
• Lead, supervisory, or management experience in a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Experience scheduling freight pickups or working directly with freight carriers.
• General knowledge of shipping documentation and logistics processes.
• Familiarity with RF scanners and warehouse management systems.

Work Environment
You will work in a warehouse environment that supports HVAC distribution operations, handling ductless mini-split air conditioning systems and related materials. The role follows a first-shift schedule, Monday through Friday, from 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, providing consistent daytime hours. Work takes place both indoors and outdoors depending on workload and loading activities, with seasonal fluctuations and peak activity during the summer months. You will operate equipment such as sit-down forklifts, stand-up reach trucks, and RF scanners, and use digital tools including email, Zoom, and warehouse systems. The team is small, which provides significant autonomy, responsibility, and frequent collaboration. The position requires wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, including steel-toe boots and safety gloves, and adhering to all safety and housekeeping standards to maintain a clean and organized facility.
Job Type & Location
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Peoria, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
