Certified Phlebotomist

Overview Pride Health is hiring a phlebotomist to support our client’s medical facility in Bakersfield, CA. This is a 3+ month contract with the possibility of a contract-to-hire opportunity. Location: Bakersfield, CA 93311. Base pay range: $22.00/hr - $27.00/hr. Pay Rate: $22 - $27/hr on W2. Shift: Mon - Fri 7:30 am-4:30 pm. Note: Pay rate is based on experience and educational qualifications. Job Title: phlebotomist Job Responsibilities Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture to collect blood specimens from patients of all ages. Ensure patient comfort and safety during the collection process. Accurately label specimens and complete requisition forms. Adhere to standardized procedures for waived testing, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of results. Properly handle and store specimens to maintain sample integrity. Follow protocols for specimen transport and disposal. Perform electrocardiograms (EKGs) as directed by healthcare providers. Apply electrodes and monitor patients during the procedure to ensure quality tracings. Prepare and verify manifests for specimens being sent to external laboratories or for transportation purposes. Job Requirements / Qualifications Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal on-site supervision. Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric experience. Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime. Superior customer focus with strong communication and adaptability skills. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent. Medical training (medical assistant or paramedic) preferred. Minimum 3 years of experience as a phlebotomist. State License Required.
