Regional Director of Operations (RDO)

CCH Healthcare LLC is seeking an experienced Regional Director of Operations (RDO) to join our leadership team overseeing a statewide portfolio of Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs) and Long-Term Care communities across North Carolina. This position is ideally based in the Greensboro/Piedmont Triad area and requires frequent statewide travel.

This executive healthcare leadership opportunity is ideal for a successful Nursing Home Administrator with experience driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance, clinical quality, census growth, employee retention, and financial performance across multiple facilities. The Regional Director of Operations will partner closely with facility leadership teams to ensure outstanding resident care while achieving key organizational objectives.

Essential Responsibilities

Leadership and Operations Management

• Provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities and Long-Term Care communities throughout North Carolina, including locations in Pineville, Concord, Statesville, Durham, Pinehurst, and Washington.

• Coach, mentor, and develop Licensed Nursing Home Administrators and facility leadership teams.

• Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, customer service, resident-centered care, and clinical excellence.

• Establish performance goals and operational benchmarks for each facility and monitor progress toward achieving results.

• Ensure consistent execution of company initiatives, operational standards, and industry best practices across all assigned facilities.

• Build effective working relationships with facility leaders, clinical teams, residents, families, community partners, and other stakeholders.

Clinical and Regulatory Excellence

• Support facility leadership in achieving strong clinical outcomes, quality measures, and resident satisfaction.

• Maintain survey readiness and regulatory compliance across all assigned facilities.

• Serve as a key liaison with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services , state survey agencies, licensure boards, and other regulatory officials.

• Assist facilities in addressing survey findings, plans of correction, certification matters, and compliance initiatives.

• Ensure effective Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement, risk-management, infection-prevention, and resident-safety programs are implemented and maintained.

• Promote compliance with applicable federal and North Carolina requirements governing Skilled Nursing Facilities and post-acute care operations.

Financial Performance and Business Growth

• Oversee facility operating budgets, financial performance, labor management, expense controls, and revenue-enhancement initiatives.

• Analyze census trends, financial reports, occupancy levels, labor utilization, EBITDA performance, and other key operational metrics.

• Develop and implement strategies that drive sustainable growth, profitability, operational efficiency, and market share.

• Partner with admissions, clinical liaison, and marketing teams to increase census and strengthen referral relationships across the facilities’ respective North Carolina healthcare markets.

• Develop productive relationships with hospitals, physicians, managed-care organizations, community providers, and other referral partners.

• Identify opportunities for expansion, service-line development, and business growth within the region.

Talent Development and Workforce Stability

• Support recruitment, retention, succession planning, and leadership-development initiatives.

• Ensure facilities maintain effective staffing plans that support quality care, regulatory compliance, and responsible labor management.

• Develop high-performing teams capable of delivering exceptional resident care and strong operational results.

• Promote employee engagement, accountability, collaboration, professional growth, and job satisfaction.

• Identify emerging leaders and create development opportunities that support long-term organizational success.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Active North Carolina Nursing Home Administrator license

·       Must reside in, or be willing to relocate to, central North Carolina—preferably the Greensboro/Piedmont Triad area—with reasonable access to the assigned statewide portfolio.

·       Minimum of five years of experience as a Skilled Nursing Facility Administrator or Nursing Home Administrator

• Demonstrated success in long-term care operations, regulatory compliance, clinical oversight, census development, and financial management

• Strong understanding of federal and North Carolina requirements governing Skilled Nursing Facilities and post-acute care operations

• Exceptional leadership, communication, organizational, analytical, and team-building skills

• Ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned region

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Long-Term Care Administration, or a related field

• Previous experience as a Regional Director of Operations, Regional Vice President, Multi-Facility Administrator , or in another senior healthcare operations leadership role

• Experience overseeing multiple Skilled Nursing Facilities, rehabilitation centers, or post-acute care communities

• Established knowledge of North Carolina’s skilled nursing, post-acute care, and healthcare referral markets.

• Proven record of improving census, survey outcomes, quality measures, financial performance, workforce stability, and employee retention
