Stonebrook Exterior is a seeking a full-time Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing the company’s accounts payable and ensuring that all invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner. In the construction industry, this includes handling subcontractor payments, lien waivers, and compliance with project-specific billing requirements.

Essential Job Functions

• Onboard vendors and subcontractors.
• Input, route, and correctly code invoices in TimberScan and Sage Intacct.
• Input use tax coding on invoices.
• Oversee weekly payment processing including checks, ACH, EFT, Credit Card payments.
• Monitor automatic payments from company bank accounts and make sure invoice is recorded in the company system.
• Posting payments in Sage Intacct.
• Reconcile and review vendor statements.
• Monitor the AP email inbox and respond to vendors.
• Answer and respond to vendor phone calls.
• Ensure all monthly recurring invoices are received.
• Ensure subcontractor insurance information is correct.
• File monthly, quarterly, annual use taxes with multiple state reporting.
• Other related duties as assigned.

Preferred Talents

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with construction billing practices, including AIA documents and lien releases.
• Experience with job costing and project-based accounting.
• Knowledge of construction compliance requirements (e.g., W-9s, COIs, lien waivers).

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• 2–4 years of accounts payable experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage 300, Viewpoint, QuickBooks).
• GL experience preferred.
• Basic Excel skills a must exporting and formatting data.
• Ability to multitask across multiple computer software systems.
