CNC Machinist

Job Roles and ResponsibilitiesProgramming & Optimization: Program toolpaths for complex 5-axis parts using Mastercam and collaborate with design and fabrication staff to optimize part programs for the specific material at hand.Machine Operation & Setup: Set up, operate, and monitor CNC routers through full job runs, ensuring strong attention to setup accuracy and part quality.Probing & Inspection: Utilize Renishaw probing systems for part setup, datum verification, and in-process inspection.Job & Resource Management: Manage job sequencing, material preparation, and tooling inventory. Select appropriate tools, machines, and materials in preparation for machinery work.Troubleshooting: Diagnose in-process issues and adjust programs or setups on the fly as challenges arise.Maintenance: Maintain machine health through routine checks, tool changes, and basic maintenance workflows.Documentation: Document programs, setups, actions, and job notes by completing production and quality logs in accordance with quality system requirements.Qualifications and CertificationsExperience: 5 or more years of hands-on experience programming and operating 5-axis CNC routers.Software Proficiency: Hands-on Mastercam proficiency, with a preference for multi-axis toolpaths.Technical Skills: Familiarity with Fanuc controller operation, G-code interpretation, and Renishaw probing systems for setup and inspection workflows.Blueprints & Modeling: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and 3D models.Core Skills: Strong math skills, experience with measuring tools, mechanical aptitude, and a strong understanding of tooling, machining best practices, and materials such as hardwoods, MDF, and PVC.Soft Skills: Self-sufficient mindset comfortable managing an independent queue, flagging issues proactively, maintaining strong attention to detail, and executing good communication.Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)Experience working with composites, tooling board, foam, honeycomb, or aluminum in a CNC context.Background in metal parts fabrication, including turning, milling, or general machining.Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 quality management systems and associated documentation practices.CAD experience for designing fixtures and jigs, with Rhino 3D or Fusion 360 considered a plus.Experience working in low-volume, high-variability production environments.BenefitsMedical PlansDental PlansVision Plans401k PlanPaid Time Off (PTO)HolidaysMaternity LeaveBereavement Leave
