Job Title: Machine Operator / Inspector

Pay: $22-$25

Shift: 6am-2:30pm and or 1pm-9pm

Contract to hire: 6-month

Job Description

The Machine Operator / Inspector is responsible for performing advanced manufacturing operations related to metal processing and stripping processes. This role ensures that products are processed accurately, safely, and in full compliance with work order instructions and quality standards, while supporting overall production flow and efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Cut metal materials according to work order instructions, ensuring accuracy and adherence to specifications.
  • Clean metals using dip or conveyor processes to prepare materials for subsequent production steps.
  • Perform operations within designated stripping areas in accordance with established procedures.
  • Cut and bake metal components and perform resist touch-up as required to meet product requirements.
  • Move products to the next operation with complete and accurate documentation, including travelers and in-process inspection sheets that are properly signed and dated.
  • Ensure all processes and procedures are followed prior to quality assurance inspection to maintain consistent product standards.
  • Verify that products meet specifications through in-process checks and inspections.
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of all production documentation to support traceability and quality control.
  • Clean and change production chemicals according to specifications and established schedules.
  • Follow all safety procedures when handling chemicals and operating equipment to maintain a safe working environment.

Essential Skills

  • Demonstrated experience in production operations and general manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in machine operation and machine operating within a production environment.
  • Ability to handle and work with chemicals safely, following established procedures and guidelines.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate cutting, cleaning, and processing of metal materials.
  • Capability to follow work order instructions and documented procedures consistently.
  • Ability to complete and maintain production documentation, including travelers and in-process inspection sheets.
  • Commitment to adhering to safety protocols when handling chemicals and operating equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in general production environments, particularly involving metal processing, is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with dip or conveyor cleaning processes for metals is an advantage.
  • Understanding of quality and process control practices, including in-process checks and QA procedures.
  • Ability to work efficiently within stripping areas and coordinate product flow to the next operations.

Work Environment

This role operates in a manufacturing and production facility focused on metal processing and stripping operations. You will work with production machinery, metal cutting and baking equipment, and dip or conveyor systems for cleaning metals. The position involves regular handling of production chemicals in accordance with specifications and schedules, requiring strict adherence to safety procedures and use of appropriate protective equipment. Work is performed on the production floor, following documented processes and quality standards, with an emphasis on accurate documentation, safe equipment operation, and maintaining a clean and organized work area.

This is a Contract position based out of San Jose, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00/hr.
