About This Role
We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Ones Teacher Helper to join our early childhood education team in Washington, IN. In this role, you will support the lead teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment tailored to the unique developmental needs of one-year-old toddlers. You will play a vital role in fostering early milestones through interactive play, structured routines, and attentive daily care. This maternity leave coverage could lead to full-time employment.
What You'll Do- Assist the lead teacher in executing daily schedules, sensory activities, and age-appropriate playtime routines.
- Provide attentive care during essential daily routines, including diapering, meals, snacks, and nap times.
- Maintain a clean, sanitized, and organized classroom environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor children closely during indoor and outdoor activities to ensure their absolute safety and well-being.
- Engage directly with toddlers through reading, singing, and floor play to encourage language and motor skill development.
- High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
- Documented experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare center, preschool, or structured environment.
- Ability to successfully pass all state-mandated background checks and fingerprinting.
- Current CPR and First Aid certifications, or a willingness to obtain them within 90 days.
- Physical stamina to stand, kneel, sit on the floor, and lift up to 35 pounds frequently throughout the day.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working with infants or toddlers in a licensed childcare setting.
- Experience with infant/toddler developmental screening tools.
