Design Engineer

About us Parallel is a web infrastructure company. Our products are used by leading businesses in sales, marketing, insurance, and coding to build best-in-class AI agents with flexible and powerful programmatic access to the web. We’ve raised $230 million from Kleiner Perkins, Sequoia, Index Ventures, Spark Capital, Khosla Ventures, First Round, and Terrain to build the web for AIs. We’re currently valued at $2 billion and we’re forming a world-class team of engineers, designers, marketers, sellers, researchers, and operational experts to achieve our mission. Job: We’re hiring a design engineer to help shape and build interactive experiences across Parallel’s website, product, and special projects. The work ranges from refining everyday interactions and motion to creating visual essays, data visualizations, launch pages, and minisites. You’ll work alongside designers, marketers, and engineers from the first rough idea through to production. That means prototyping possible directions, contributing to our core website, and getting the details right in the browser. You’ll also build reusable components and patterns that help us ship the next project faster. You: You’re a design engineer or a frontend engineer with strong design instincts. Your work shows care for typography, layout, and the timing and feel of an interaction. You’ve shipped working websites and can point to the decisions you made along the way. You’re comfortable with modern frontend and animation libraries, and know when to build something custom. You move quickly in prototypes and carry that work through to a responsive, accessible, performant site. About Parallel Design: We design for a web used by both people and agents, grounding our work in real code, data, and evidence. We draw from the history of the web, computing, and publishing to help explain what comes next, while leaving room for experiments, tangents, and things made simply because they’re good. Life at Parallel Our team works fully in-person , between our Palo Alto HQ and San Francisco office. We’re a flat, talent-dense organization dedicated to solving technical and creative problems. We seek like-minded individuals who share our passion for applying science, creativity, and consistency to big and complex problems with equally big outcomes. These are our values: Own customer impact: It’s on us to ensure real-world outcomes for our customers. Obsess over craft: Perfect every detail because quality compounds. Accelerate change : Ship fast, adapt faster, and move frontier ideas into production. Create win-wins : Creatively turn trade-offs into upside. Make high-conviction bets : Try and fail. But succeed an unfair amount.
