Job Description

Requirements:

Active RN license in state of practice (or compact license as applicable)
BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
BLS and ACLS certification required
Fetal monitoring certification (AWHONN) preferred, depending on unit
1+ years of OB/GYN experience required
Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and/or gynecological surgical care

Duties:

Provide nursing care to patients across antepartum, postpartum, and gynecological populations
Assess maternal and fetal status for antepartum patients, monitoring for complications
Provide postpartum assessment and education, including newborn care, breastfeeding support, and recovery monitoring
Care for gynecological surgical patients pre- and post-operatively (hysterectomies, laparoscopic procedures, etc.)
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
Educate patients and families on condition, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
Recognize and escalate signs of complications (hemorrhage, infection, preeclampsia) promptly
Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient response in the EMR
Support patients through sensitive physical and emotional aspects of reproductive health care
