Job Description & Requirements Specialty: CVICU Discipline: RN Start Date: 11/10/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 36 hours per week Shift: 12 hours, nights Employment Type: Travel Job Summary: Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) in a medical center located in Austin, TX. This role involves delivering high-quality direct patient care as a Registered Nurse (RN) in a high-acuity cardiac surgery and advanced heart failure patient population. The position requires implementing and monitoring individualized care plans, administering physician and nursing orders, and leading discharge planning efforts to ensure safe patient transitions. Job Details: Schedule: Nights shift, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU or cardiovascular units, knowledge of Cerner/COMPASS electronic medical records system, and successful completion of Ascension skills checklist. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Cardiac Advanced Device Therapy management, including IABP, Impella, and Swan-Ganz management. Additional Information: The unit has 28 beds, with navy scrub color. Float to other units such as MICU, SICU, Medical, or Cardiac Stepdown may be required. The scope includes high-risk cardiac surgeries, heart transplants, LVAD implants, ECMO, Impella, IABP, CRRT, and advanced monitoring procedures.
