Campus Police Officer

Mississippi Delta Community College is looking for a Campus Police Officer in Moorhead, MS. Positions are available on both a full-time and part-time basis. Responsibilities Patrol assigned areas on foot and by vehicle; detect crime and arrest violators. Patrol parking lots and outlying areas of all college properties and buildings, providing overall security. Investigate criminal violations in accordance with departmental rules, school regulations, procedures, and laws. Regulate pedestrian and vehicular traffic, moderating flow and enforcing applicable codes and statutes. Provide temporary emergency first‑aid treatment to College community members and visitors. Offer emergency escort service to students and staff when necessary. Work independently without direct supervision of a superior. Prepare and present testimony in court regarding criminal and civil matters accurately and without hesitation. Provide information about Mississippi Delta Community College to students, staff, and the general public. Deliver law‑enforcement and security services for special College events. Assist in training new Police Officers as directed by the Chief or other authority. Perform other related duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED; possible college credit hours. Minimum one year of law‑enforcement training or related experience. Must possess excellent communication skills and be willing to obtain MLETA certification. Must be able to work flexible hours. Upon hiring, officers must qualify with their firearms, achieving a score of at least 75%. #J-18808-Ljbffr
