Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Caregiver and Med-Aide role based in Highlands, TX. The Caregiver and Med-Aide provides direct support to residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility assistance. The role includes safe and accurate medication assistance in accordance with state regulations and facility policies, documenting all medications given and reporting changes in resident condition to supervisors. Daily responsibilities also involve assisting with meals, light housekeeping, companionship, and participating in care plans to support each resident’s physical and emotional well-being. The Caregiver and Med-Aide collaborates with other team members, follows safety and infection-control procedures, and maintains a respectful, person-centered approach to care. Qualifications Demonstrated skills in personal care assistance, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support. Ability to safely assist with medications, follow written orders, and accurately document medication administration. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact respectfully with residents, families, and coworkers. Knowledge of basic safety, infection-control, and emergency response procedures in a residential care setting. Capacity to perform physical tasks such as lifting, supporting residents, and standing or walking for extended periods. Reliability in following schedules, care plans, and facility policies, including confidentiality and resident rights. Prior experience as a caregiver, nursing assistant, or med-aide in assisted living, long-term care, or similar settings preferred. Relevant certification or training as a Med-Aide and/or Caregiver according to Texas state requirements is highly beneficial. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
