About this role Instruct college students in accordance with educational theories and techniques. Develops discipline related curricula, assess student learning, participates in program evaluation, and college activities. Maintains college and department standards in support of the College's mission and strategic plan. Work schedule varies according to teaching assignment. Varies What an Adjunct Instructor's Day looks like : Develops, maintains, interprets, and executes administrative procedures and practices. This activity includes developing and maintaining manuals regarding the College's policies, procedures, rules, and standards. Analyzes class and program needs of the College. Determines and recommends the retention or deletion of courses. Develops and coordinates program and course schedules, faculty assignments, and test dates. Maintains calendar as necessary to track these schedules and adjusts as required. Assist students and program curriculum, program and course reviews, and articulation activities. We'd love to hear from you if you have the following: Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in Nursing and demonstrated experience in clinical practice as a registered nurse or Master's degree in Nursing, or Master's degree and 18 graduate semester hours in Nursing, and Current State of Florida licensure as a Registered Nurse or higher, and current 2-year CPR BLS certification through the American Heart Association. Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, and on multiple campuses if needed. Occupational experience required and teaching experience recognized. Ability to demonstrate the use of technology in the classroom; must be able to use the technology required for the assigned course. Coursework within the degree must reflect competencies in the courses to be taught. Must demonstrate cultural competency to engage and work with diverse student and employee populations. Must have the ability to complete required professional development for teaching strategies. Must have the ability to complete required professional development for clinical practice if not working as a registered nurse or higher clinician. Knowledge of: Microsoft Office Professional or similar applications Utilize Canvas Learning Management System and other instructional technologies Ability to: Interact positively with diverse populations and varying education levels of students, faculty, staff, and the public. Work Environment and Physical Demand: Reach and grasp objects Stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl Use of video display terminal Use of manual dexterity and fine motor skills Communicate information orally and in writing Receive and understand information through oral and written communication Proofread and check documents for accuracy Pay Rates: Standard hourly rates vary based on the assigned course level and educational credentials. Must have the ability to work a fluctuating schedule to include evenings and weekends. Degrees earned in the United States must be conferred by an accredited institution of higher education recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation . Degrees earned outside the United States must be validated by an organization belonging to the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES).
