Hotel General Manager – Select-Service Hotel, Bellingham, WA

Salary Range: $85,000–$89,500 per year

Position Type: Full-Time

A select-service hotel in Bellingham, Washington, is seeking an experienced Hotel General Manager. This Bellingham hotel general manager role is accountable for guest satisfaction, associate engagement, brand standards, and profitable select-service hotel operations in the Bellingham and Whatcom County market.

Summary

The General Manager directs and coordinates select-service hotel activities in Bellingham, WA, to obtain optimum efficiency, economy of operations, and maximum profit. The Bellingham hotel general manager plays a pivotal role in guest satisfaction by maintaining high service standards, addressing guest and associate concerns promptly, and improving the guest experience. Duties and Responsibilities

• Prepares and presents the annual budget for the upcoming year
• Leads creation of the annual marketing plan to maximize market share and rate in Bellingham and the surrounding Whatcom County market
• Accountable for house profit, budgeted RevPAR, and occupancy index
• Manages to or exceeding brand standards
• Ensures the safety of all persons on property and works to limit liability for hotel activities
• Knowledgeable of local, Washington State, and federal laws, including innkeeper law, employment law, and OSHA regulations
• Plans, develops, and implements organizational policies and goals
• Coordinates department activities to ensure operational efficiency
• Directs promotion of hotel services to develop new markets, increase share, and strengthen competitive position in the Bellingham select-service hotel market
• Analyzes department budget requests, identifies reductions, and allocates the operating budget
• Reviews activity, operating, and sales reports and determines required changes in programs or operations
• Directs preparation of directives to the Regional Director of Operations outlining policies, programs, or operational changes
• Promotes the hotel within local Bellingham and Whatcom County associations
• Performs other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree required
• One to two years of previous General Manager experience at a hotel
• Previous Hotel General Manager experience required
