Sr Inventory Management Specialist - Days

Senior Inventory Management Specialist role at Thermo Fisher Scientific managing laboratory consumables across multiple customer sites in the Cambridge/Boston area. Responsibilities include inventory maintenance, mobile scanning operations, shipment processing, and customer support using electronic systems and handheld RF scanners.
Responsibilities
- Maintain laboratory consumables inventories at multiple customer sites with daily inter-site travel
- Use RF scanners and mobile applications to perform replenishments, stock rotation, cycle counts, and order entry
- Receive, inspect, and scan shipments; maintain accurate inventory records and cycle counts
- Handle customer inquiries via email and phone; collaborate with internal teams to resolve issues
- Monitor stock levels proactively and identify gaps or operational concerns
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2–3 years customer-facing, retail stocking, warehouse, or inventory control experience
- Proficiency with RF handheld scanners and mobile scanning applications
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills, particularly email
- Ability to lift 30–40 lbs regularly, up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Self-directed approach with attention to detail and accountability
- Comfortable working independently at multiple sites with daily travel
Compensation: $26.20 per hour
