The Best Teams are Created and Maintained Here.Job SummaryThe Superintendent is responsible for the maintenance, operation, and management of a golf course. This role serves as a liaison between the company, the customer representative, and the golf shop on matters related to daily course operations. The Superintendent is easily contacted and remains in contact with the key employees on the golf course at all times.Duties and Responsibilities:Plan, organize, and direct maintenance of all areas within the scope and according to the technical specifications of the contractPartner with the customer to understand or develop a long-term property improvement planSupervise the operation, maintenance, and repair of all equipment assigned to the coursePrepare and operate within annual budget estimatesPrepare and follow an annual agronomic plan that operates within the technical specifications of the contract and the annual budgetProcure and manage supplies and materials to support maintenance activitiesCreate and distribute reports of maintenance activities as requiredManage golf course employees, including interviewing, hiring, training, discipline, and separationProtect the company’s interest through an awareness of and compliance with all applicable regulations, including course and company policiesAdminister all aspects of the BrightView Safety Program and the BrightView BV360 Management ProgramRepresent BrightView Golf Maintenance positively and professionally, including attitude, appearance, and speechMaintain effective employee and public relationsMeet or exceed external and internal customer expectationsEducation and Experience:Experience in all phases of golf course management and turf cultureWorking knowledge of the construction, establishment, and maintenance practices employed on golf course putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, and bunkersDegree or advanced knowledge of agronomy, horticulture, plant, or soil scienceHigh degree of administrative and executive ability, including effective oral and written communication skills and computer proficiencyCertified and /or licensed for pesticide usageFamiliar with the characteristics and proper use of fertilizers and soil conditionersKnowledge of irrigation, including watering practices, irrigation systems, pumps, wells, and automatic controls and drainageAbility to prepare the course for play in accordance with the rules of golfAbility to evaluate the course from the player’s perspectiveValid driver’s licensePhysical Demands/Requirements:Constant operation of a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, photocopier, and computer printerAbility to physically perform the basic life operational functions of walking, standing, and kneelingAbility to maintain, in your possession at all times, required medications to address any knownallergic reactions should they occur.Work Environment:Work in an indoor office and also outdoors during site walkthroughs and site supervision dutiesBrightView Landscapes, LLC is an Equal Opportunity and E-Verify Employer.This job description is subject to change at any time.BrightView offers a suite or health, wellness, and financial benefits to full-time team members.
