Maintenance Electrician

As a Maintenance Electrician at Zekelman Industries, you will play a key role in ensuring the safe, efficient repair and rebuild of tube mill production equipment. This position directly impacts equipment quality, uptime, and overall production yield. What You'll Do

• Performs electrical maintenance on production equipment while adhering to all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
• Ensures guards and safety mechanisms are properly installed and functional before returning equipment to service
• Monitors inventory levels for parts and supplies; places and verifies orders as necessary
• Utilizes manual and computerized maintenance management systems to track and report equipment status
• Reads and interprets blueprints, manuals, and schematics to identify and resolve equipment issues
• Troubleshoots and resolves electrical and mechanical issues, escalating unresolved problems to supervisors
• Executes breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance tasks, and changeovers to minimize downtime
• Observes and diagnoses issues using mechanical devices and precision instruments
• Fabricates replacement parts using standard machine shop tools
• Maintains a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company safety protocols
• Operates powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable lifting equipment
• Supports continuous improvement efforts and participates in team-based problem solving
• Complies with OSHA safety standards, including hazard communication, lockout procedures, and ergonomics
• Promotes a safety-first culture and adheres to all company policies and procedures
• Performs additional duties as assigned by the supervisor

Who You Are

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in maintenance
• High school diploma or equivalent required; apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or equivalent training preferred
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment
• Strong mechanical aptitude and familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs
• Effective communicator with basic math skills and the ability to read technical documentation
• Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to pass job-related testing, physical exam, and drug screening
• Team-oriented with a strong work ethic and collaborative mindset

Physical Abilities

• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods throughout the shift
• Ability to bend, twist, stoop, sit, kneel, crawl, and reach in all directions
• Other physical demands as required for the position
