MachinistThe position associates must be knowledgeable on basic machine shop fundamentals to process final machining in various forms of weldment parts to product specifications. Pre hire knowledgeable and capability of drilling, tapping, and milling practices is essential.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :Operation of small machining center to large gantry, or double column centers.Clean machined parts – deburring.Inspect part for final prep workPerform status check/set upCheck Operator messages and tool statusOrganize parts to processClock-In / Clock-Out daily work orders job times without fail.NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS :Non-Management Employees include:Demonstrate commitment to an Injury-Free Environment by actively participating in company safety programs.Comply with all aspects of the corporate environmental, health and safety program.Ability to occasionally work a swing shift.REPORTING RELATIONSHIP :SupervisorKNOWLEDGE :Candidate must have basic knowledge of and operation of 3 to 5 axis CNC Machine.Basic knowledge of hand and power tools, (impact wrench, grinding tools).Candidate will be proficient with metric measuring instruments and system.Candidate must have proficiency with use of test and dial indicators, calipers, precision square, and metal scale ruler.Basic understanding/interpreting geometric dimensioning and tolerance (GD&T)Proficiency with layout and set-up work area and components.Ability to read and comprehend blue prints.Basic understanding of materials and material propertiesAbility to keep to schedule and standard time.Okuma OSP, Fanuc, Siemens, Control knowledge a plus.SKILLS :Basic CNC Machine operating skill or Manual Milling Machine operation experience.Knowledgeable on CNC machining G-code and M-codeCalculate dimensions and tolerances using mathematics.Understand machining tooling for the various types of machining processes.Must possess excellent communication, problem solving, team interface and interpersonal skillsPAY RANGE: $29.00-$33.00LOCATION: La Mirada, CASCHEDULE:4/10Monday - Thursday6:00am - 5:00pmMENTAL ABILITIES :Ability to work harmoniously with othersAbility to accept and follow instructionAbility to maintain positive attitudeWORKING CONDITIONS :LIFTING: Average Weight: 25 lb.
