Physical Therapist Assistant Program Adjunct Faculty

Job Summary The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) program at SLCC offers introductory courses into the fields of Physical therapy. We are looking for a faculty to teach these intro courses. Classes may be taught in person, online, or through concurrent enrollment off‑site at partnering high schools. Responsibilities Effectively prepare and teach Physical Therapist Assistant introductory classes as stipulated in the course syllabi. Maintain accurate and complete student attendance records, grades, and other classroom documentation as applicable. Grades must be maintained on the College’s learning management system. Demonstrate a depth of knowledge and understanding in the field of physical therapy. Participate in trainings and other responsibilities as assigned and approved. Respond to department and college communication within two business days. Accept other duties as assigned. Communicate effectively with a broad range of diverse people, cultures, ethnic backgrounds, and abilities to maintain good working relationships across the College. Work with all groups in a diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural and ethnic background of community college students, faculty and staff, including those with disabilities. Qualifications Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States. All employees are expected to maintain a permanent residence within the State of Utah as a condition of employment. New employees must provide a valid Utah residential address within 30 days of their start date. Associate’s degree. Currently licensed as a Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist in the state of Utah. Nationally certified as a Physical Therapist Assistant or Physical Therapist. Official transcripts required within 30 days of hire. Pool position; adjunct positions offered on a semester‑by‑semester basis with no guarantee of continued employment. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher. Evidence of formal teaching experience. Evidence of teaching in a high school setting. Evidence of a variety of clinical experiences. Other Conditions Employment is on a contract‑to‑contract basis, with no future expectation or obligation for employment. Employment may be terminated at will at any time. All faculty must maintain an on‑site campus presence to encourage in‑person relationships unless approved for online‑only courses. Faculty are required to maintain professional boundaries with all SLCC students. Position subject to successful completion of a criminal background check.
