IT Systems Support Technician

Under the supervision of the IT Operations Manager, the IT Systems Support Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the Bank’s IT infrastructure and enterprise technology environment. This role performs routine monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IT systems and provides advanced technical support for issues requiring deeper technical expertise. The IT Systems Support Technician supports server, network, telecommunications, and advanced computing environments and assists with resolving complex technical issues escalated from other support areas. All duties are performed in accordance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements. All employees are expected to actively promote Legacy Bank to existing and prospective customers in order to support the Bank’s growth and profitability. Major Duties and Responsibilities Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot IT infrastructure systems, including servers, storage, networking equipment, telecommunications systems, software, and related technologies. Configure and install new, upgraded, or replacement enterprise IT equipment, systems, and software. Provide advanced technical support, serving as an escalation resource for complex issues beyond standard IT Helpdesk support and assisting with front line support tickets as needed to provide coverage or overflow support. Create, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot automation tasks and processes. Work with stakeholders to understand needs and develop new processes. Research issues and solutions to technical related areas. Review, maintain, and update technical documentation and system records. Other Duties as assigned Must comply with applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Requirements Experience One to three years of IT support experience, including experience supporting infrastructure systems and resolving advanced technical issues. Education/Certifications/Licenses A two year college degree, progress toward a four year degree, or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school. Relevant technical certifications are preferred but not required. Interpersonal Skills A high level of professionalism, trustworthiness, and discretion is required. This role works closely with IT team members, internal staff, and external vendors and must demonstrate strong teamwork and collaboration skills. Timely, clear, and accurate communication is essential to ensure technical issues, projects, and operational tasks are properly coordinated and resolved. The ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally to both technical and non technical audiences is required, including effective interaction with vendors and service providers. Attention to detail is critical, as work may involve system troubleshooting, documentation, and handling confidential or sensitive information where accuracy, follow through, and discretion are essential. Other Skills Working knowledge of enterprise IT infrastructure and systems, including on premises and cloud based environments. This includes experience supporting server and virtualization platforms, directory services, operating systems, and enterprise applications. Knowledge of networking concepts and infrastructure, including wired and wireless networks, routing and switching, firewalls, and WAN and LAN connectivity. Familiarity with endpoint and device management, email systems, and enterprise computing environments is required. Understanding of core security and networking principles, including access controls, VPN technologies, and backup and recovery systems. Experience monitoring systems, responding to alerts, troubleshooting performance or availability issues, and following documented procedures and change management processes is expected. ADA Requirements Physical Requirements Primarily sedentary work with occasional physical exertion, including lifting up to 100 lbs. Must be capable of climbing or descending stairs in emergency situations. Must be able to operate standard office equipment and perform computer based work for an average of 6-8 hours per day. Extended hours may be required during system issues or maintenance activities. Regular, reliable attendance is required. Working Conditions Work is performed indoors in a climate controlled, shared office environment with moderate noise levels. Mental and/or Emotional Requirements Must be able to work under supervision, manage multiple priorities, follow detailed instructions, and perform work accurately under time constraints. Must demonstrate professionalism, composure, and discretion when handling confidential matters and interacting with individuals at all levels of the organization.
