Location: Greenville, IL Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Greenville. This role involves supervising and performing electrical design, estimation, installation, startup and maintenance activities across a range of projects from minor modifications to large equipment installations. The engineer will also provide technical support for PLC, HMI and related control systems and ensure compliance with electrical safety programs. Responsibilities Engineering Activities (~70% of time) Design in‑house equipment modifications and new installations to increase productivity, integrating electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge. Troubleshoot maintenance and production problems on equipment to reduce downtime. Plan, supervise and communicate modifications to equipment ensuring safety, cost savings and productivity. Prepare sketches for fabrication, modification and installation of equipment; define parts, order parts, write reports, and update department project lists. Create new and update existing drawings using CAD systems. Other miscellaneous duties (~30% of time) Attend and contribute to plant initiatives such as safety, COS and cost‑saving projects. Qualifications Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering. Equivalency: Some college coursework with scheduled completion of a Bachelor’s degree within six months of hire date. Experience Three or more years at a manufacturing facility working on electrical troubleshooting, PLC programming, VFD programming, HMIs and communication protocols. Ability to work in a team environment, manage priorities and communicate effectively. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP and AutoCAD. Ability to program and modify PLCs, VFDs, HMIs and related equipment. Strong knowledge of electrical safety plans based on NFPA, OSHA, NEC and related codes. Work Environment & Time Worked Environment – Approximately 70% in a climate‑controlled office and 30% in a manufacturing plant, with occasional meetings. The role may involve fast paced, stressful situations and extend beyond core hours. Core Hours – 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday‑Friday. Additional time may be required for projects. Off‑hour obligations – Occasional phone calls during off hours to maintain production or ensure safety. Physical Requirements Sitting, standing, walking, climbing stairs, catwalks, and ladders; stooping, bending and lifting. Good vision and hearing required to observe processes and communicate effectively. Supervisory Responsibilities No direct reports. The position may require supervising maintenance or production operators when necessary. Salary $75,000 – $125,000 depending on education and experience.
