Role Description The Team Member role at University Weiner is a full-time, on-site position located in East Lansing, MI. In this role, the Team Member will greet guests, take orders accurately, handle transactions, and provide prompt, friendly service. Daily responsibilities include preparing menu items according to company standards, assembling orders, and maintaining food safety and sanitation practices. Team Members will help keep the dining and kitchen areas clean and organized, restock supplies, and follow opening or closing procedures as assigned. The role also involves working collaboratively with colleagues, communicating clearly with the shift lead or manager, and supporting a smooth and efficient operation during peak hours. Qualifications Ability to deliver excellent customer service, including clear communication, active listening, and a friendly, professional demeanor. Basic food preparation and handling skills, with an understanding of food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation standards (training provided as needed). Reliability in following instructions, completing tasks on time, and adhering to company policies and procedures. Comfort working in a fast-paced environment, including standing for extended periods and managing multiple tasks during busy shifts. Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate, support coworkers, and maintain a respectful, inclusive work environment. Basic math and cash-handling skills for operating point-of-sale systems and processing payments accurately. High school diploma or equivalent preferred; prior experience in food service, retail, or customer-facing roles is helpful but not required.
