Job Summary

T he Material Support Specialist provides comprehensive support for the purchasing, receiving, storage, movement, shipment, and control of materials and equipment. This role works closely with production planning, logistics, customer service, vendors, and other internal departments and locations to ensure materials and shipments are processed accurately and efficiently.

Job Description

• Follow all company policies, procedures, and guidelines related to workplace safety, product quality, and material handling.
• Operate pallet jacks and sit-down forklifts to safely move, stage, load, and unload materials and equipment.
  
• Unload incoming shipments and accurately receive goods into the facility.
  
• Support the purchasing, storage, movement, and control of materials throughout the facility.
  
• Process and approve freight invoices through a third-party freight management system.
  
• Code freight invoices and upload required documentation into the ERP system.
  
• Support the Production Planning department with assigned job functions based on workload and business needs.
  
• Participate in physical inventory activities and cycle counts to maintain accurate inventory records.
  
• Run daily shipping orders and establish tasks and priorities for the day's shipping activities.
  
• Enter information into SAP to close out completed orders and maintain accurate transaction records.
  
• Prepare export, hazardous-material, and international shipping documentation in accordance with applicable requirements.
  
• Coordinate and communicate with other departments, facilities, and client locations to support material and logistics activities.
  
• Communicate professionally with external vendors, customers, customer service teams, and internal stakeholders.
  
• Investigate, process, and resolve freight, shipment, and service-related claims.
  
• Coordinate preventative maintenance activities for material-handling and other applicable equipment.
  
• Help ensure internal and external customer needs and expectations are met.
  
• Contribute to departmental and organizational performance through accurate, timely, and efficient execution of assigned responsibilities.
  
• Identify and communicate issues that may affect production, shipping, inventory, or customer service.
  
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
• Shift: 7:00 am - 3:00pm M onday-Friday

Skills Required

• 1–3 years of experience in logistics, materials management, shipping/receiving, freight, booking, warehouse operations, or a related field.
• Previous forklift experience preferred.
  
• Experience working with an ERP system; SAP experience strongly preferred.
  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  
• Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly and effectively.
  
• Strong organizational and attention-to-detail skills.
  
• Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with multiple departments and locations.
  
• Ability to communicate professionally with vendors, customers, and internal business partners.
  
• Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to changing workloads and business requirements.

Education

• High school diploma or GED

Pay Rate

• $15 - $17.50 per hour (Compensation will be offered within this posted range based on experience, skills, and market factors)
