Description
***After successful completion of training and satisfactory work performance, an incumbent may progress to a Senior Crime Analyst ($25.76 - $41.20) after one (1) year current and continuous experience as a Crime Analyst with the City of Dothan Police Department.***
The Crime Analyst provides real-time analytical and technical support to law enforcement operations by monitoring and analyzing data from surveillance systems, Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD), License Plate Reader (LPR), and other digital platforms. This involves identifying crime trends, preparing intelligence reports, and delivering actionable information to field personnel to enhance public safety and investigative efficiency. Major Duties

- Graduation from a standard senior-high school or GED equivalent, as recognized by the United States Department of Education (USDE) or Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA); and
- One (1) year recent experience in law enforcement crime analysis, or a closely related technical role performing analytical, criminal intelligence, or investigative support using public safety technology platforms.
- Recent completion of a 120+ hour internship in Forensic Sciences, Criminal Justice, Criminology, or closely related field preferred.
- Graduation from an accredited* college or university with a degree in Data Analytics, Uncrewed Aerial Systems, Uncrewed Aircraft Systems Flight Operations, Criminal Justice, Public Safety, or related field preferred.
