Family Law Paralegal

We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Family Law Paralegal to join our growing legal team. In this role, you will support attorneys in handling a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, child support, and domestic violence cases. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and is comfortable working directly with clients during sensitive and emotional situations.

Key Responsibilities

• Draft, review, and file legal documents such as petitions, motions, affidavits, and discovery
• Manage case files and maintain accurate, up-to-date records
• Communicate with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel
• Assist attorneys in trial preparation, including organizing exhibits and preparing case summaries
• Coordinate court filings (e-filing) and track deadlines
• Conduct legal research related to family law matters
• Schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings
• Collect and analyze financial documents for equitable distribution, support, and custody cases

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a paralegal, preferably in family law
• Paralegal certificate or equivalent experience required
• Strong knowledge of family law procedures and court rules
• Proficiency with legal software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Experience with e-filing systems
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with case management software (e.g., Clio, MyCase)
• Trial preparation experience
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
