Location: Onsite in Boston, MA
Pay: $35-$40/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday
We are seeking an experienced Mortgage Loan Processor / Junior Underwriter to join a growing lending team. This is an excellent opportunity for a lending professional with experience processing residential home equity loans who is looking to expand their underwriting knowledge. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and knowledgeable in residential lending regulations and loan processing from application through closing.
Responsibilities- Process residential home equity loan applications from initial disclosure through closing.
- Review loan documentation for completeness and accuracy.
- Order and review appraisals, title work, flood certifications, and other required documentation.
- Verify income, assets, credit, and collateral information.
- Calculate debt-to-income (DTI) and loan-to-value (LTV) ratios.
- Prepare Closing Disclosures and issue clear-to-close authorizations.
- Communicate with borrowers and internal teams regarding loan status and outstanding conditions.
- Assist with underwriting residential loan files and make recommendations within established guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with TRID, ECOA, HMDA, Fair Lending, and other applicable regulations.
- Prepare reports for management and support ongoing lending operations.
- Maintain accurate loan files and documentation throughout the lending process.
- 2+ years of residential mortgage or home equity loan processing experience.
- Experience processing loans from application through closing.
- Knowledge of home equity lending products and residential lending regulations.
- Exposure to underwriting or credit analysis is highly preferred.
- Experience using Loan Origination Systems (Encompass preferred) and Microsoft Office.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple loan files simultaneously.
- NMLS registration preferred or ability to obtain.
