Description
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations for patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics utilizing diverse assessment methods and observations.
- Create tailored treatment plans that address both immediate goals and long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing challenges.
- Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on various aspects of communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Collaborate closely with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to establish a unified approach to care.
- Educate patients and families to bolster progress outside of therapy sessions.
- Occasionally conduct inpatient evaluations and interventions to ensure seamless continuity of care throughout the rehabilitation process.
- Keep precise and timely documentation in accordance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in the field through ongoing education and collaborative peer engagement.
- A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
- State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
- Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Expertise with evidence-based treatment modalities for patients of all ages, along with a keen understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills to foster strong relationships with patients, families, and interdisciplinary care teams.
- Flexibility in adapting therapeutic techniques to accommodate diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.
- Strong clinical insight and analytic problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable navigating electronic medical records and documentation protocols.
