CNC Lathe Machinist Pay: $30.00/hour Schedule: First Shift | Flexible Start Times Available Position Overview We are looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join our machining team on first shift. This role is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring CNC lathes equipped with Fanuc controls to produce high-quality precision components. The ideal candidate will have strong setup experience, be comfortable making program edits and offsets, and have a solid understanding of machining principles, blueprint reading, and quality inspections. Key Responsibilities Set up and operate CNC lathe machines with Fanuc controls. Edit and adjust existing CNC programs to improve performance, cycle times, and part quality. Load, secure, and fixture parts for machining operations. Perform complete machine setups, including tool offsets and touch-offs. Conduct first-piece inspections and make necessary program or offset adjustments before production runs. Measure and inspect finished parts using micrometers, calipers, gauge pins, and other precision measuring equipment. Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and specifications. Monitor production runs to ensure consistent quality and adherence to tolerances. Operate and oversee multiple CNC lathes while maintaining safety, productivity, and quality standards. Troubleshoot machining, tooling, and equipment issues to minimize downtime. Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying process enhancements and efficiencies. Maintain accurate production and quality documentation. Qualifications Minimum 3 years of CNC lathe setup and operation experience. Strong experience with Fanuc controls. Ability to edit and modify CNC programs as needed. Experience performing first-piece inspections and making offset corrections. Proficient with precision measuring instruments including micrometers and calipers. Strong blueprint reading and interpretation skills. Experience setting up tooling and fixtures for production machining. Ability to troubleshoot machining and production issues effectively. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Preferred Qualifications Experience with Hyundai Wia CNC lathes. Experience with Hardinge CNC machines. Familiarity with CNC programming concepts and process optimization.
