About the Role Our client, a national retailer, is seeking a highly organized and analytical Retail Inventory Specialist to join their remote operations team, supporting store activities in the Paarl, Western Cape region. This fully remote position is critical for maintaining accurate inventory levels, optimizing stock flow, and minimizing losses across multiple store locations. You will utilize data analysis and inventory management systems to ensure product availability, track stock movements, and identify discrepancies. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses strong analytical skills, and is adept at working independently in a virtual environment. Key Responsibilities Monitor and manage inventory levels across all designated stores, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Analyze inventory data to forecast demand, identify trends, and optimize stock levels. Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits, investigate discrepancies, and implement corrective actions. Track stock transfers between stores and the central warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate processing. Implement and enforce inventory control policies and procedures to minimize shrinkage and loss. Utilize inventory management software and systems to record, track, and report on inventory data. Collaborate with store teams and supply chain personnel to resolve inventory-related issues. Generate regular reports on inventory status, turnover, and valuation for management review. Identify opportunities for process improvements in inventory management and stock control. Ensure compliance with all relevant inventory regulations and company standards. Requirements Proven experience in inventory management, stock control, or a related role, preferably within the retail sector. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable insights. Proficiency in using inventory management software (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and POS systems. Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective remote interaction. Ability to work independently, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote setting. Experience with conducting inventory audits and cycle counts. Knowledge of retail supply chain and logistics principles is beneficial. A dedicated home office setup with reliable internet connectivity is required. High school diploma or equivalent; associate's or bachelor's degree in a relevant field is preferred.
