Manufacturing EngineerHorton, Inc. has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer to work at our location in Westminster, SC. This job is focused on CNC Machining and requires experience along with a 4-year degree. The standard work week is Monday-Friday and relocation assistance is available.This role will receive general guidance from and report to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager. The overall work scope includes defining and implementing plans that utilize personnel, facilities, equipment, and processes to achieve the desired quality and quantity of production at the most favorable cost. This position will also work directly with corporate MFG and Product Design to bring new product to market. For over 75 years, the organization has been an integral partner to companies worldwide providing innovative and reliable engine cooling solutions for heavy-duty vehicles and equipment.ResponsibilitiesManufacturing Engineer Responsibilities:Develops and improves production processes.Assists with the preparation of cost estimates for given products by analyzing the production process and costing each step, providing information to be used by corporate engineering and sales staff for proposals and product pricing.Designs manufacturing process for new parts or products and maintains process documentation when modifications to existing process are made.Applies Mathematical Calcs & SPC Methods to determine manufacturing process & production cost standards. Routinely audits all processes, material flow paths, and routings to confirm standard cost accuracy.Other miscellaneous Manufacturing Engineering Tasks as assigned related to cost/benefit analysis, planning for future plant expansions, purchases of machinery, equipment moves, or development of new production areas in response to anticipated production growth.Motivated & Self-Managed leader that promotes and exemplifies manufacturing excellence at all levels.QualificationsManufacturing Engineer Qualifications:Requires a B.S. Degree in EngineeringMinimum of 2–3 years of experience working with advanced CNC machining applications in a manufacturing environmentFamiliarity with controlsLean 6 Sigma methodologyDemonstrated experience with managing equipment purchasesAbility to work with cross functional team to achieve results and meet project timelinesPreferred Software Skills: Understanding and demonstrated knowledge of MasterCam. NX MFG, or Espirit. Demonstrated proficiency in Heidenhain TNC-7 controlMust be authorized to work in the United States.
