Our Labor and Delivery team specifically helps the birthing person every step of the labor, delivery, recovery, and post-partum process. The Birthplace has electronic fetal monitoring equipment with central display for easy, constant observation. An operating suite for Cesarean sections is just a few steps away. Our patients receive care from a compassionate and highly skilled nursing and interdisciplinary team in a fast paced environment. We strive to make each birth a special experience for our families as they have been preparing for this event for many long months. Education Qualifications* Bachelor's Degree Bachelors of Science: Nursing (BSN) PreferredSkills and Abilities* Demonstrates awareness and sensitivity to rights of patient/significant other, as identified within the institution. (Required proficiency)* Demonstrates awareness and application of safety issues as identified within the institution. (Required proficiency)* Demonstrates awareness of legal issues in all aspects of patient care and departmental functioning. Strives to manage situations in a manner, which minimizes risk to the patient and the institution. (Required proficiency)* Demonstrates competency in selected psychomotor skills. (Required proficiency)* Ability to communicate effectively using verbal, non-verbal and written methods. (Required proficiency)* Ability to perform mathematical calculations related to medication administration and equipment calibration. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. (Required proficiency)Licenses and Certifications* Registered Nurse - KSBN A multistate license with the ability to practice within the State of Kansas is also accepted. Required* Basic Life Support - BLS RQI, CPR or ACLS certifications may be required in lieu of or in addition to BLS depending on department.
