Respiratory Therapist

The position will involve floating between units. No on-call duties are required. Weekends are required, with every other weekend scheduled. Block scheduling is required. Expected patient ratios are 1:11. Special requirements include floor care, emergency room duties, code response, and rapid response. The candidate should have experience with various respiratory therapies and equipment. Responsibilities include aerosol set up, BiPAP, CPAP, interpretation of arterial blood gases, extubation, tracheostomy care, and emergency response. Candidates will be expected to care for patients across all age groups, including pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. Experience with pediatric care is preferred. Preferred equipment includes Puritan Bennett, Draeger, Trilogy, and LTV1250. Travelers may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may lead to termination of the assignment. Providers will be supplied with necessary communication devices to perform duties as assigned. Any work-related communication expenses incurred by providers will be reimbursed, up to a specified limit. Providers should not reach out to facility contacts directly unless for an agreed-upon interview. Modules and training may be required before starting the position.
