Credit and Collections Specialist

Credit & Collections Specialist Step into a role where your work has a direct, visible impact on cash flow. As a Credit & Collections Specialist, you'll own an assigned customer portfolio, recover past-due balances, and resolve disputes. You'll also help the wider organization build stronger collection practices. The role offers a hybrid schedule with Fridays from home, flexible daily hours, and a clear path to conversion based on your performance. Responsibilities Manage collections for an assigned customer portfolio, following up on past-due balances and documenting each interaction in the database. Maintain an accurate AR aging, reconcile monthly customer statements and credits, and flag credit-risk accounts daily. Resolve billing disputes and deliver statements and invoices in each customer's preferred format. Spot potential bad debts and field process issues that delay payment, then recommend corrective action to management. Support the AR Manager with customer credit checks, prepare portfolio reports for leadership, and travel occasionally as needed. Qualifications Required Associate degree or at least 4 years of industry-related collections experience Accounts Receivable experience, with a solid understanding of payment, invoicing, and AR reporting processes Experience with route accounting or ERP systems, including daily balancing and database management, plus proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Access Preferred Direct Store Delivery or Route Accounting experience Experience with HighRadius and S4 Proven collections track record, including negotiating payment arrangements Accounting and/or bookkeeping experience Experience analyzing customer aging reports to reduce delinquencies Why Join Us Contract-to-hire opportunity , with conversion based on performance Hybrid schedule , working from home every Friday Flexible daily hours , as long as 8 hours are met Ownership of your own customer portfolio , with direct visibility to management
