Job Title
Supervises: CNA Trainee, CNA, SR CNA, LPN, RN, Unit Clerk
Education
Minimum: Graduate from an accredited Registered Professional Nurse Program.
Preferred: Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing or related field or Masters in Nursing or related field.
License/Certifications
Current NYS License to practice as a Professional Registered Nurse.
Experience
Minimum: 2 Years of Nursing Experience or 2 Years of LTC experience.
Preferred: Previous management/leadership experience.
Other
Minimum:
- Interpersonal skills which ensure effective communication with staff, patients, families, physicians, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Knowledgeable in the area of management systems and processes.
- Demonstrated ability to establish effective work relationships in an effort to lead others in the direction of meeting organizational objectives.
- Analytical skills to assess departmental needs, develop, and implement planned interventions, and evaluate the effectiveness of applied interventions.
- Basic management competencies for the position assigned.
- Ability to facilitate project management, work effectively under pressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit of teamwork through effective role modeling.
- Familiarity with DOH requirements.
- Computer literacy required with word processing, spreadsheets, power point.
Preferred:
- Experience with Microsoft Office products including word, excel and power point & Meditech.
- Customer Focus: Models, exemplifies and leads in accordance with Healing Environment principles.
- Specifically: Being professional, communicating effectively, and attending to the care environment.
- This is evidenced by work behavior which ensures safety, promotes dignity, respect and wellbeing, and exemplifies healthy relationships.
Required Skills, Experience and Certifications
- 2 years of Nursing Experience or 2 Years of LTC Experience.
- Current NYS License to practice as a Registered Nurse.
- 2 years consistent managerial experience in a LTC Setting.
