A 13-week contract opportunity is available for an experienced inpatient pharmacist in the Tomball, TX area, starting September 21. This role focuses on delivering comprehensive pharmaceutical care across patient age groups, ensuring medication safety and efficacy within a hospital inpatient setting.

Work Schedule:

• Dayshift, 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Rotating weekends

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage the entire medication use process to identify, prevent, and resolve drug-related problems.
• Verify appropriateness of medication doses based on diagnoses, patient weight/body surface area, allergies, and potential drug interactions.
• Accurately enter medication orders into the EMR system (EPIC) with attention to detail to avoid medication incidents.
• Ensure timely processing and delivery of medication doses following established guidelines.
• Adhere to aseptic techniques and infection control standards during the preparation of sterile products, maintaining high compliance through ongoing certification and monitoring.
• Collaborate with technicians and fellow pharmacists to uphold best practices in medication safety and sterile processing.

Qualifications:

• Valid Texas Pharmacist license required.
• ACPE IV Certification is mandatory.
• Minimum of 2+ years recent inpatient pharmacy experience, preferably including pediatric exposure (pediatric experience is a plus but not required).
• Proven ability to ensure medication safety and accuracy within a clinical setting.
• Proficient use of EPIC EMR system preferred.
