Labor One is hiring journeyman shipfitters in San Diego, California. Expected long-term project competitive pay $160 per diem for those who are eligible. Housing assistance is available. Job requirements include five years of recent shipyard experience, the ability to work any shift and overtime if required, passing a background check, being DBIDS eligible, passing a drug screen, and shipfitter knowledge including welding, tacking, burning, and scarfing. Must pass the following shipfitter welding assessment: FCAW fillet weld plates: 2F 3F 4F (VT test). Fillet testing shall take 1-2 hours. T Bar 12X4" 3/8" thick: 2F 3F 4F (VT and fracture test). This takes the average ship fitter of 1-2 days. Must comprehend written and verbal instructions (in English).
