Certified Dietary Manager

Job Summary:

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement menus that meet the nutritional needs of patients/residents while maintaining quality and variety

• Order, receive, and store food in compliance with all state and federal regulations

• Ensure that food is prepared using safe and sanitary methods

• Monitor and organize kitchen operations, including cleaning and maintenance

• Manage departmental budgets, analyzing food costs and modifying menus accordingly to stay within budget

• Supervise and train staff in proper food handling, preparation, service, and sanitation procedures

• Maintain accurate meal counts and food cost reports

• Interact with patients/residents and families to resolve any issues related to their dietary needs

• Develop and implement policies and procedures related to the dietary department based on established standards and guidelines

Qualifications:

• Graduate of Dietary Manager’s Program, 2-yr, or 4-yr foodservice program

• Successful completion of CDM Credentialing Exam with active certification status

• 2 years’ experience in foodservice management

• Skill in motivating, coaching, and supervising foodservice personnel

• Current awareness of legislation and regulations influencing the practice of standards of care
