Youth Crisis Response Specialist - Cleveland The Youth Crisis Response Specialist is responsible for providing in-person crisis screening, assessment, and intervention, and continuity of care services to children and youth in the community using developmentally appropriate tools and strategies to reduce symptoms or behaviors of crisis that could result in displacement or other disruption to the child or youth's life. Services will be provided in community settings, such as private homes, juvenile detention, residential centers, and schools. Responsibilities Use trauma‑informed interventions and strategies to de‑escalate children and youth in crisis, aid in crisis relapse prevention, and create safety planning to ensure safety and reduce risk for placement disruptions. Facilitate office‑ and community‑based crisis assessments and intervention services for identified children and youth to evaluate immediate needs and arrange for appropriate care or services. Work with a team of clinicians, medical staff, community agencies, school professionals, local law enforcement, juvenile justice, court systems, and other child‑serving agencies to provide crisis stabilization services. Provide trauma‑informed and solution‑focused interventions, including motivational interviewing, to promote stability and reduce the need for future inpatient and law enforcement interventions. Provide care coordination and connection to community resources to address the child or youth's needs and promote recovery. Travel in and out of the region is required. Work non‑traditional business hours, weekends, and some holidays. Qualifications Bachelor's Degree meeting the requirements of a Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP)* Preferred: 2 years of experience in the human services field. Preferred: Bilingual in Spanish and English (paid at a higher salary). Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through Tri‑County.
