Licensed Vocational Nurse

Wesley Palms Retirement Community is Hiring! Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Part Time: PM Shift (3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.), Every Other Saturday and Sunday Pay Range: $40.00 - $43.00 per hour Summary: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, the LVN 2 is responsible for meeting the needs of our residents and supervising CNAs / Nurses Aids to ensure quality resident care. Detailed Responsibilities: Licensed Vocational Nurse 2 Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction Arrives to work on time, in proper clean uniform, good personal hygiene and with nametag visible Coordinates and performs resident assessments and plan of care evaluations when appropriate Coordinates and performs needed treatments, medications or other nursing interventions as indicated by the patient plan of care or as ordered by the physician Ensures all needed emergency measures are followed as per facility policy and within standards of nursing practice Maintains inventory of medical supplies and medications to meet patient/resident needs Ensures that all patient/resident rights are protected Maintains all documentation as required by Federal and State regulations and Company policy Performs all duties in a safe and efficient manner Uses equipment correctly and safely in performing patient/resident care Follows department safety protocols at all times Wears safety equipment as required for the job Reports any safety hazards and/or accidents to supervisor Follows highest standards of cleanliness Follows all federal, state and corporate policies, health codes and guidelines in preparation and handling of foodstuffs Attends all mandatory in-service meetings Complies with all department and facilities policies and procedures Greets residents, personnel, vendors and families as they enter the Clinic Answers incoming calls to the Clinic and responds to the emergency call system Schedules in-house doctor’s appointments; lab work (including forms); and transportation requests Coordinates and performs needed treatments, medications or other nursing interventions as needed Ordering and inventory concerning resident’s prescription requests; treatment room supplies; and office supplies Charts and maintain and custodian of medical records Monitor fire alarms and dispatch 911 Performs variety of clerical duties necessary to keep area organized and running in an efficient manner Front Porch is committed to the prevention of accidents by providing equipment with safeguards, personal safety equipment on jobs which require it, and adequate safety instructions to all employees All employees are required to follow safe work habits in order to prevent injuries to themselves, residents, visitors or other employees Essential: Competencies and skills: Must be able to understand, follow, support and initiate policies and procedures of the facility. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. Must be able to recognize emergency situations and respond appropriately. Credentials: Essential: Licensed Vocational Nurse - California First Aid certificate Education with Equivalent Qualifications: 2-year College or technical school Experience with Equivalent Qualifications: 1 Year RN/LVN experience providing direct care Previous long-term care, geriatric and/or rehabilitative nurse experience highly preferred Compensation Disclaimer: The actual compensation offered will depend on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, experience, training, education, and licensure/certifications (as applicable).
