Date: Jun 8, 2026 | Location: DENTON, TX | Agency: Health & Human Services Commission | Posting Number: 17726 | Closing Date: 06/22/2026 Salary: $3,095.33 - $3,649.83 per month | Shift: Day (First) | Position: Rehabilitation Therapy Technician IV (RTT IV) | Facility: Denton State Supported Living Center Brief Job Description The Rehabilitation Therapy Technician (RTT) performs moderately complex habilitative and rehabilitative therapy work, providing assistance to therapists for an assigned therapeutic specialty (e.g., music therapy, therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy, physical therapy, etc.) and delivering direct contact instruction to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Essential Job Functions Attend work regularly, following scheduled shifts and any required overtime. Directly implement treatment plans through hands‑on methods and monitor treatment goals via observation. Assist in developing and evaluating treatment plans for the assigned therapeutic specialty. Support therapists in conducting functional skills assessments, preparing materials, and reviewing prior assessments. Provide staff training to Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to ensure continuity of treatment plan objectives. Monitor DSP implementation of program objectives, gather data, and report to the interdisciplinary team. Complete program‑related paperwork to meet applicable standards and procedures. Collect data related to treatment plans to assess individual progress. Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, sharing findings from assessments, monitoring, and training efforts. Maintain current knowledge and skills related to assigned responsibilities, including participation in disaster response or COOP activations when required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs) Knowledge of therapeutic techniques such as applied behavior analysis, sensory integration, and other modality‑specific practices. Ability to train staff in treatment methods and related areas. Strong communication skills, both oral and written. Skill in developing and maintaining data collection systems for the therapeutic specialty. Proficiency in using personal computers and relevant software. Understanding of ICF/IID regulations and state supported living center policies. Physical capability to meet requirements of direct contact staff positions. Effective collaboration with interdisciplinary team members. Registrations, Licensure Requirements, Or Certifications Valid Texas driver’s license with an eligible driving record per HHSC Fleet Management policy. Initial Screening Criteria High school diploma or GED (preferred). At least six months of experience working with individuals who have intellectual and developmental disabilities or performing therapeutic work. Experience in areas such as applied behavior analysis, sensory integration, music therapy, therapeutic recreation, occupational therapy, physical therapy, psychology, or vocational rehabilitation (preferred).
