Registered Nurse - Labor and Delivery

Job Description

Job Summary:

Provide specialized nursing care to women during labor and delivery, ensuring patient safety and positive childbirth experiences. This role requires a compassionate approach combined with clinical expertise in obstetrics.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with healthcare teams to monitor fetal and maternal well-being during labor.
• Administer medications and interventions as prescribed, including epidurals and other analgesics.
• Assist with childbirth procedures, including delivery, assessment, and postpartum care.
• Educate patients and families on childbirth processes, recovery, and infant care.
• Document patient progress and interventions accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a sterile environment.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license in North Carolina.
• Have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in labor and delivery.
• Demonstrate proficiency with MEDITECH or similar EMR systems.
• Be able to work night shifts, including every other weekend.
• Possess strong clinical assessment and emergency response skills.
• Provide two supervisory references upon request.
