Human Resources Specialist (Employee Benefits)
Department of Health and Human Services
Duties
Counsels or advises individual employees on sensitive or serious problems related to health or life insurance coverage.
Assists managers in making proper referrals to external resources for employees with sensitive or serious problems that are directly related to health and life insurance programs or issues.
Provides employees and/or their survivors with definitive answers involving complex benefits questions on CSRS, CSRS Offset, and FERS.
Works with employees on complex retirement program situations, such as when combining federal service that has been credited under various and dissimilar programs.
Advises top-level managers, resolving complex and difficult problems in interrelated Human Resources functional areas.
Provides managers and employees with information and interpretations of the agency's employee benefits administration, and other work life programs, procedures, practices, policies, and guidelines.
