Staff Accountant

Position Summary The Staff Accountant will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting month‑end and year‑end close processes, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. Key Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and merchant processing accounts Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Prepare financial reports and schedules for management review Assist in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis efforts Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records Assist with sales tax filings and other regulatory reporting requirements Support internal and external audits by preparing documentation and schedules Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes and internal controls Perform other accounting duties and special projects as assigned Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required 2+ years of relevant accounting experience (fitness, retail, or multi‑location business experience a plus) Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems) Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast‑paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information Preferred Qualifications CPA candidate or actively pursuing CPA licensure Experience with multi‑location or franchise business accounting Familiarity with fitness industry membership/billing platforms The pay range for this role is: 55,000 - 65,000 USD per year (Stuart Office) #J-18808-Ljbffr Echelon-Fitness
