Wendy's Wonderful Kids RecruiterDepartment: Enhanced Family Foster Care/Residential Foster CareLocation: Primary office: Queens; travel to Brooklyn and Long Island required.Status: Full time Non-ExemptFunction of the Position: The WWK Recruiter will implement the WWK child-focused recruitment model to serve children in foster care who do not have an identified permanent adoptive resource.Reports To: Recruitment Permanency SupervisorSupervises: N/AResponsibilities:Maintain active caseloads of 12–15 children and an average total caseload of 18 children.Conduct initial referral services by establishing contact with the child's caseworker to introduce the recruiter's role, gather initial referral information, establish a date to begin the case file review, and schedule an initial meeting with each child.Build relationships by meeting with each child in person at least monthly to develop openness and trust.Conduct in-depth case record reviews of existing files, including:All Progress Notes in ConnectionsDate and reason the child entered the systemChild's most recent profile and assessmentChronological placement historySignificant services provided to the child, currently or in the pastIdentification of services neededAll significant people in the child's life, past and present, including caseworkers, foster parents, attorneys, court-appointed special advocate (CASA) volunteers, teachers, therapists, relatives, mentors, faith-based representatives, extracurricular activity leaders, and othersPrevious court action summaries and Family Team Conference reportsProvide family search efforts by identifying, locating, and contacting people with whom the child currently has, or previously had, a bond or positive relationship, with the knowledge and approval of the child's caseworker.Conduct LexisNexis searches, web searches, diligent search requests, and putative father registry searches.Develop an initial written adoption readiness assessment for each child and provide updated adoption readiness assessments quarterly to enhance the child-focused plan. Assess the child's strengths, challenges, barriers, desires, preparedness for adoption, and whether the child has needs that should be addressed before moving forward with the adoption process. If the child has needs that must be addressed before moving forward with adoption, the recruiter will work with the child's caseworker to ensure those needs are met. During the matching process, assess whether the family is adequately prepared to meet the child's needs.Build a network with people close to and knowledgeable about the child, such as caseworkers, foster parents, CASA volunteers, teachers, relatives, mentors, and faith-based representatives, and maintain regular, ongoing contact with them.Develop a comprehensive recruitment plan, or enhance the existing recruitment plan, based on file review, interviews with significant adults, and input from the child. The plan will be customized to each child's needs, reviewed at least monthly, and updated quarterly.Attend all required Wendy's Wonderful Kids summits, conferences, and training events, including those held out of state. Attendance is mandatory.Required to attend and fully participate in all scheduled Service Plan Reviews, Adoption Permanency Reviews, and other Family Team Conferences scheduled for the youth/children on the recruiter's caseload, which may occur outside of regular business hours and require availability after 5:00 PM.Submit monthly Statistical Online Database Reports (Child Trends) by the 7th of each month or other date designated by Foundation.Submit progress notes within seven days after an event or visit with the child or youth. Progress notes must be entered into Connections, printed, and placed in the WWK file.Fulfill the duties of a mandated reporter, including reporting any suspected instances of child abuse or maltreatment.Meet consistently with the supervisor one-on-one to discuss safety and permanency issues related to the caseload.Employees are required to work from the office at least three days per week (mandatory). Newly hired staff are required to work from the office five days per week during their first three months of employment.Communicate with each child's CP team at least once per month. Document each contact as a progress note that must be entered into Connections, printed, and place it in the WWK file.Communicate and work effectively with SCO foster care support staff, including Youth Skills Coaches, Educational/Vocational Specialists, Parent Advocates, medical and mental health staff, NYC Children's Services, outside medical and mental health centers, schools, consultants, other SCO programs, and all other relevant parties.Adheres to SCO's personnel policies.Regularly review the LMS and ACS Workforce Institute to ensure all required training is completed before their due dates.Performs other duties as assigned.Documentation and Case File Maintenance, including:Place all documents in the correct tabs in the WWK files. Keep the files neat and in order.All conversations with the CP team and supportive resources must be documented in Connections and/or via email.An email must be sent to the CP team by the following business day after each youth visit/contact.The following documents must be completed, printed, and filed in the correct WWK case files, weekly:Adoption Readiness Assessment Recruitment plansDiligent searchesFTC reportsUpdated court documentationProgress Notes in ConnectionsNotes from Adoption Permanency ReviewsQualifications:Bachelor's degree required; or MSW preferred.At least 1-2 years of Case Work or Case Management experience in foster care is required.Approved background clearances and fingerprinting are required.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office, Excel, and CONNECTIONS.Bilingual abilities are strongly encouraged.Valid U.S. driver's license is required.In addition, all EFFC employees should possess the following characteristics:Be team players.
