Flexible Work Option: No remote option; must work at a specified Cox location. Travel %: Not specified. Work Shift: Variable. Compensation: Hourly base pay rate is $18.17 - $27.31/hour. The hourly base rate may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission (annual, monthly, etc.) and/or an incentive program. Job Description The Estimator II provides accurate vehicle repair estimates for mobile on-site fleet service for light, medium, and heavy‑duty trucks and trailers. The role prepares all relevant estimate paperwork, works with procurement/purchasing to obtain parts and pricing information, and coordinates with maintenance teams to ensure work is performed as required. The Estimator monitors work processes and outcomes for quality, adherence to estimated timelines, and costs. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Performs basic estimation duties based on compiled information from Mobile Technicians and Customers. Monitors repair status, completion timelines, and customer communications related to approved estimates. Keeps records of repair details and completes necessary paperwork. Follows up on outstanding quotes and prioritizes workflow to ensure effectiveness. Develops positive working relationships with Estimation team members, internal stakeholders, and customers. Provides excellent customer service for all internal and external customer calls. Serves as a trustworthy advocate for the customer by providing sound guidance and advice regarding any customer technical inquiries or general questions related to products and services provided by the company. Reviews, revises existing and generates additional repair estimates upon customer request and specifications. Follows job‑related duties as directed by manager. Collects miscellaneous information and parts pricing from various manufacturers and vendors. Continuously develops and improves company capabilities in the area of Dispatching and Service Scheduling. Assists with other duties and special projects as assigned. Education High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline and 1 year’s experience. Experience 2 years experience in service advisement, maintenance coordination, technician dispatching, or Diesel technology or similar capacity. Technician role minimum: High School diploma or GED required. Skills & Abilities Must be bilingual and fluent in both English and Spanish. Previous experience in an automotive mechanic/technician role with clear understanding of automotive repair and related parts. Strong communication skills (written, verbal, and phone). Customer service skills. Experience with MS Office, email, typing, and software navigation to generate repair estimates. Sense of urgency; action oriented; capable of operating with minimal planning. Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced environment under pressure and shift priorities quickly. Mathematical proficiency: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Professional but friendly demeanor. Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with strong attention to detail. Capability to handle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. Preferred Qualifications Experience as an Estimator in a diesel vehicle service department or dealership environment. Proficiency with Mitchell One or similar systems.
